Frequently asked questions
Bookings, payments, customising, safety and transport — answered.
Booking & payments
How do I book a tour with Sky Bound Travels?
Send an enquiry from any page, call us or message us on WhatsApp. A trip planner will understand your dates, group and budget, share a day-wise plan with hotel options, and confirm the booking once you are happy with it.
Why do packages show "On Request" instead of a price?
Hotel rates and cab fares in the hills change with the season, your travel dates, group size and hotel category. Rather than show a number that may not apply to you, we send an exact quote for your dates — usually the same day.
How much advance do I need to pay to confirm?
Most bookings are confirmed with a part payment, with the balance due before the trip starts. The exact amount and due dates are written in your quote and depend on the hotels and season.
Are there any hidden charges?
No. Your quote lists exactly what is included and what is not — for example tolls, parking, permits, entry tickets or GST. If something is extra, it is written down before you pay.
Customising your trip
Can you customise a package for my family?
Yes — every package is a starting point. We can add or drop places, change hotel categories, adjust the pace for children or senior citizens, and start the trip from Chandigarh, Delhi, Amritsar, Pathankot, Srinagar or Leh.
Do you arrange trips from Pune and Mumbai?
We are based in Lonavala and plan trips for travellers across Maharashtra. We can suggest flights or trains from Pune, Mumbai or Nashik to the start point and arrange pickup from the airport or railway station.
Can you plan honeymoon or group trips?
Yes. Honeymoon plans focus on good views, slower days and romantic touches on request. For groups we arrange tempo travellers or coaches, rooms together and a single point of contact for the group leader.
Can I book only a hotel or only a taxi?
Absolutely. You can book hotels, a cab for a single route, airport transfers or local sightseeing on their own — no full package needed.
Travel & safety
What is the best time to visit Himachal, Kashmir and Ladakh?
Himachal and Kashmir are good almost all year — March to June for pleasant weather, December to February for snow. Ladakh and the Spiti circuit via Kunzum Pass are best from about June to September, when the high mountain roads are open.
Is snow guaranteed in winter?
Snowfall depends on the weather, so no one can guarantee it. In Himachal, places like Solang Valley, Kufri and Sissu usually get snow between late December and February; in Kashmir, Gulmarg is the most reliable.
How do I deal with altitude in Ladakh and Spiti?
Go slowly. In Leh, rest for the first day and keep the second day light. Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol early in the trip, and tell us about any heart or breathing conditions so we can plan a safer route and pace.
Will someone be available during the trip?
Yes. You get the driver's number and a trip coordinator's number, and you can reach our team on call or WhatsApp throughout your trip.
Hotels & transport
What kind of cars do you use?
Sedans such as Dzire or Etios for couples, Ertiga or Innova for families, high-clearance SUVs for Spiti and Ladakh, and tempo travellers or coaches for groups. Drivers are experienced on mountain roads.
Are the hotels in the package fixed?
Packages list the hotel category and a suggested hotel "or similar". Once you confirm your dates, we confirm the exact hotel names in writing before you pay.
Do I need permits for Rohtang, Nubra or Pangong?
Rohtang Pass needs a vehicle permit, and Nubra, Pangong and some border areas of Ladakh need an Inner Line Permit. We arrange these for you as part of the plan; permit fees are shown separately in your quote.
